Lead Employment Advisor

Job Introduction

About Us

Oxfordshire Employment is a forward-thinking, award-winning service within Oxfordshire County Council, dedicated to supporting individuals who have a health or disability barrier to find and stay at work. We deliver high-quality supported employment programs and are committed to inclusive practices, safeguarding, and continuous improvement

About the Role

As Lead Employment Advisor, you will guide and support a team of Supported Employment Practitioners, ensuring safe, effective, and person-centred employment support. You’ll lead on key areas such as employer engagement, safeguarding, and fidelity compliance, while managing a small caseload and contributing to service development. You’ll also deputise for the Contract Delivery Manager, supporting recruitment, strategic planning, and operational delivery.

About you

We are looking for an experienced supported employment practitioner with a strong commitment to inclusive employment and high‑quality outcomes. You will bring solid knowledge and practical experience of Supported Employment, with an understanding of evidence‑based, person‑centred approaches that support people into sustainable work.

You will have strong leadership skills and the confidence to manage performance, support staff development, and promote best practice across services. A good working knowledge of safeguarding is important, alongside the ability to apply this confidently and proportionately in a delivery environment.

Experience of Supported Internships will be highly valued, particularly where this includes understanding delivery models, working with employers and education providers, and supporting progression into paid employment.

You will be comfortable building and maintaining effective partnerships, using data and insight to inform decisions, and responding positively to change. You will thrive in a dynamic environment and be motivated by the opportunity to make a meaningful and lasting impact for individuals, employers, and communities.

It really is true that every single job role here contributes to bettering the lives of the people in our county - we want to do this for our employees too. We are proud of our strong flexible working culture, including the opportunity for flexibility on working hours and the use of technology to support agile working. We offer some of the very best learning and development opportunities to support your ongoing development. We have a generous holiday allowance which rises as you remain in employment with us up to 32 days, as well as giving you the option to buy additional holiday. You will also have access to a Local Government Pension Scheme with employer contributions of up to 19.9% of your salary; a range of local and national retail discounts; and a host of enhanced family friendly policies including carers leave and paid time off for volunteering.
