Job Introduction

About Us

Are you ready to make a real difference and play a vital role in transforming the future of adult social care? Join Oxfordshire County Council and be part of our visionary Delivering the Future Together transformation programme. As an organisation committed to innovation, collaboration, and outstanding service delivery, we are seeking talented professionals who share our value of ‘daring to do it differently’ and are dedicated to continuous improvement.

Within Adult Services, we are pioneering new approaches to support Oxfordshire’s residents in remaining fit, healthy, and independent for as long as possible. By adopting a strengths-based methodology and working closely with the NHS, care providers, and community groups, we maximise the collective strengths of our partners, all united by a single, shared vision.

We place the people we support at the very heart of our work. Through active listening and positive engagement, we empower individuals to shape their own lives, ensuring they have the support they need to thrive. This collaborative, person-centred philosophy—known as the Oxfordshire Way—relies on the dedication and creativity of our teams. Here, you will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact and contribute to a service that never stands still. Ambition and innovation are in our DNA.

About the Role

We are currently recruiting Occupational Therapists for the South Adult Social Care Team, based in Didcot and covering the South Oxfordshire area. We understand the importance of work-life balance and are committed to flexible working arrangements, offering both full-time and part-time positions. Our Agile Working Policy provides genuine flexibility, enabling you to benefit from both office-based and hybrid working to suit your needs.

Applications are reviewed as they are received, so early submission is advised—exceptional candidates may be invited for interview before the official closing date. Within our team, you will be empowered to develop bespoke solutions that help people achieve their individual goals and outcomes. You will enjoy autonomy in your role, the freedom to innovate, and robust support from experienced leaders, regular group and one-to-one supervision sessions, and a wealth of professional development opportunities across all areas of Adult Social Care.

A career with Oxfordshire County Council opens doors to diverse pathways, including leadership, clinical assessment, work in secure settings, seating and mobility specialisms, moving and handling, and cutting-edge assistive technology. No two days are the same, and your work will be both challenging and deeply rewarding.

Whatever your career aspirations, we are committed to supporting and empowering you to lead your own professional development. Our continued investment in Adult Services has created exciting new opportunities for both Newly Qualified and Qualified Occupational Therapists. This is the perfect time to join our forward-thinking, supportive teams and help shape the future of social care.

  • Work collaboratively with Occupational Therapists and Social Workers in a range of environments, including localities, hospitals, and safeguarding teams.
  • Empower individuals in the community to identify their strengths and achieve their personal goals, embracing new approaches to maintain independence.
  • Apply a strengths-based approach to promote wellbeing and support positive outcomes for all.
  • Act as a passionate advocate for service users and carers, ensuring their voices are heard and valued at every stage.

If you are seeking a dynamic, supportive environment where your expertise and initiative will directly contribute to better lives, we would be delighted to receive your application and welcome you to our innovative team.
