About the Role

As an Employment Advisor, you will hold a caseload of participants who are seeking employment and require practical, in‑person support to achieve and sustain work. This is not an administrative or office‑based role. The post is primarily participant‑facing and community‑based, involving regular face‑to‑face work with individuals in workplaces, training settings, and community locations across Oxfordshire.

You will work directly with participants to understand their skills, aspirations, support needs, and employment goals. Through ongoing, in‑person engagement, you will actively seek and develop employment opportunities by working closely with participants, employers, prime contractors, and statutory bodies. From initial meetings onwards, you will assess individuals’ abilities, needs, and preferences and respond flexibly, supporting participants to access employment, training, and development opportunities.

A key part of the role is providing hands‑on, practical support. This includes offering advice and guidance to participants, their circle of support, and partner organisations; identifying specific needs and risks; and developing and maintaining risk assessments with individuals to ensure safe and sustainable employment. The role requires regular travel across Oxfordshire to support participants in person and to provide in‑work support at employer and placement locations, ensuring individuals are supported within real work environments.

Alongside direct delivery, you will maintain appropriate records in line with organisational and contract requirements, using both digital systems and hard‑copy records. These administrative tasks support the delivery of the service but do not form the main focus of the role.

You will be responsible for delivering job‑related outcomes in line with individual and team performance targets and for providing guidance and support to Employment Support Workers in the delivery of their duties.
