About Us

Are you passionate about sustainable development and looking to make a positive impact in Oxfordshire? We are seeking a dedicated Transport Development Manager Officer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will provide specialist transport advice to support the Council's objectives of delivering sustainable development, much-needed housing, and economic growth within the County. You will represent the Highway Authority in assessing the transport impacts of major developments and support the development of transport strategies and schemes to benefit the residents of Oxfordshire.

About the Role

You will advise on the transport implications and highways impacts of pre-application development proposals. You will assess planning applications and make recommendations based on transport implications, considering local and national policies. You will negotiate financial contributions towards transport services and infrastructure arising from planning applications. You will prepare evidence for Written Representation Statements and assist in Public Inquiries and Hearings. You will provide input into strategic plans and Local Development Frameworks. You will represent the Highway Authority at meetings with developers, agents, councillors, and other stakeholders. You will assist in the preparation of reports and attend planning committees.
 

About You

You should be educated to A level standard or equivalent and have previous experience within Transport Planning and Planning. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people are essential. You should be able to write clearly and succinctly for various formats and audiences, handle potentially confrontational situations, and be proficient in reading and interpreting maps, plans, drawings, and schedules. An understanding of planning legislation and legal documents, as well as experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet, and Outlook, is required. A degree level qualification in a related subject or equivalent experience is desirable, as is previous experience within Local Government and knowledge of Planning and Highway legislation related legal agreements.
