An exciting opportunity has come up within the Adopt Thames Valley Business Support team for a part time Letterbox Administrator. The ‘Letterbox’ service is the written contact that is set up between birth families and adopters after the adoption order is made. The role is a varied and interesting job where no two days are the same. Good communication skills and attention to detail are key for a letterbox administrator. The job is based in our Oxford office which is at the Union Street building in Cowley. If you think this job would suit you, please read details below and apply.
About the Role
The Letterbox administrator is responsible for all the administration tasks that are required to set up a successful letterbox exchange between adopters and birth families, and deal with all exchanges (usually yearly) until the child is an adult. This can include birthday cards, photographs, and a written updates on the child’s progress. It is a hands on role, requiring someone that is able to juggle a fast pace of work, remain organised and have a keen eye for detail as well as a resilient person that can deal with sensitive situations that may arise.
Adopt Thames Valley has offices based in Woodley, Oxford and Swindon. This letterbox admin role works alongside other letterbox administrators covering all 3 areas. There is a requirement to travel to one of these office locations once per week. Expense mileage can be claimed for travelling to the Woodley and Swindon Offices.
About you
We are looking for an enthusiastic person, who has a good level of IT skills (which includes Microsoft Office) and excellent communication skills. This role will be part of a highly skilled and experienced business support team who provides support to Adopt Thames Valley.
This post will undertake the day-to-day business support tasks for our Adoption letterbox service. You must have excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and be able to work at a fast pace. We are looking for someone who can communicate well and have a customer focused approach, so experience in working in a business support environment is essential.
