About Us
Are you interested in joining a dynamic and innovative team of Business Support Officers providing a comprehensive administrative function for our Heads of Services across Environment & Highways, Economy & Place. We are looking for someone who is keen to enhance and further develop their administrative skills and who enjoys working in a challenging environment and believes in the delivery of continuous improvement.
About the Role
This role involves providing administrative support to Heads of Service across the Environment and Highways/Economy and Place service areas. You will handle confidential matters, manage enquiries, and support managers in their duties.
The key responsibilities of the role include
- Liaise with internal and external officers, elected Members, and agencies.
- Handle queries and concerns from the public, service users, and carers.
- Prepare documents, correspondence, and presentations.
- Coordinate and maintain diaries, arrange meetings, and manage competing demands.
- Organize external meetings and conferences.
- Undertake financial administration tasks, including e-procurement and processing invoices.
About you
We are looking for someone who has significant experience of delivering administrative services. You will be resilient with the ability to manage your own emotions in the face of pressure or when dealing with challenging situations. We are looking for someone with strong IT skills who is keen to explore the opportunities of AI and automation. Good written and communication skills are essential with experience of budget monitoring desirable.
