Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

Job Introduction

About Us

We are an established team who value best practice and are supportive of one another. You will receive regular, focussed supervision and support when needed.

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for new Social Workers to join our Fostering Service as part of a new pilot project. This is a fixed term role for 2 years. The role will be focused on supporting existing carers to transition to Special Guardianship Orders for the children in their care and developing robust support plans for these arrangements. You will need to have a passion for securing permanency for children outside of the care system and a desire to work creatively in overcoming any barriers to achieving this.

The role may also involve duties in line with the wider team, including supervising approved foster carers, as well as conducting fostering and connected persons assessments for panel and court.

About you

You will need to communicate well, and you will be expected to maintain good working relationships across Children's Services and with other agencies. You will need to be pro-active and take responsibility for decisions.

We have a generous holiday allowance which rises as you remain in employment with us up to 32 days, as well as giving you the option to buy additional holiday. You will also have access to a Local Government Pension Scheme with employer contributions of up to 19.9% of your salary; a range of local and national retail discounts; and a host of enhanced family friendly policies including carers leave and paid time off for volunteering.
