Job Introduction
Are you passionate about making a difference to young people in Oxfordshire?
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Youth Worker to join Oxfordshire County Council’s Targeted Youth Support Service (TYSS). This pivotal role supports the delivery of youth focused services across local communities, with a strong emphasis on safeguarding, partnership working, and early intervention.
As a Senior Youth Worker you will:
- Lead and inspire a team of dedicated Youth Workers.
- Champion safeguarding and provide expert guidance to colleagues.
- Ensure High quality, trauma informed practice.
- Work collaboratively with partners to prevent escalation into care and reduce risks like exploitation, offending and anti-social behaviour.
- Drive innovation and creativity to ensure the service meets the needs of young people.
- Manage a small caseload of young people, providing tailored one-to-one support.
- Design and deliver group sessions that build confidence, resilience, and positive relationships.
About you
- Significant experience working with young people, families, and communities.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team, manage priorities, and deliver outcomes under pressure.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and multi-agency working.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- A relevant qualification in youth work or equivalent experience.
- Understand the impact trauma, deprivation, and neurodiversity have on young people.
