About Us
Oxfordshire County Council is seeking a planner with extensive experience to work within the strategic planning team and represent the County Council interests in the planning system. As a principal planner within the team you will have the opportunity to lead on a range of planning policy and sites based work, including representing the County Council interests in local plan development, as well as strategic planning applications.
About the Role
The role will lead in providing strategic planning advice across the authority to ensure the County’s priorities and statutory requirements are secured in strategic development sites, Local Plans, Neighbourhood Plans and other planning documents in Oxfordshire, neighbouring authorities and other regional and national strategic bodies. The team also provides chargeable advice at pre-application and application stage for a range of planning proposals, focusing on the largest strategic sites in the County.
The Strategic Principal Planner role is to lead County Council input to the successful preparation, adoption and implementation of Local Plans (including Supplementary Planning Documents, Area Action Plans, Garden Town / Village proposals, and planning applications for Strategic Sites), Neighbourhood Plans and input into strategic infrastructure development proposals.
