Job Introduction
About Us
The Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub is our 'front door' to children's social care and receives all safeguarding referrals for children in Oxfordshire. With the help of our partner agencies, we quickly identify risks to vulnerable children and provide a safe and timely response to decide the most effective interventions.
About the Role
Our aim is to identify risks to vulnerable children, at the earliest possible stage, and to provide a safe and speedy triage to determine the most effective interventions so that children, young people, and their families can thrive.
Working alongside colleagues in Children's Social Care, Emergency Duty Team, Thames Valley Police, Oxford Health and Oxford University Hospitals, Education, Probation, Fire and Rescue, South Central Ambulance Service, Youth Justice and Oxford City Council, you will have the wrap around support that’s essential for you to make a real difference to the lives of children, young people and their families in a fast paced and positively rewarding role.
As part of our team, you will:
- Use your knowledge, passion, and experience to be the first point of contact for children, young people, and their families.
- Proactively triage calls, collate and assess partner information, making recommendations to achieve positive outcomes.
- Provide support and interventions to vulnerable adults, children and families to address safeguarding concerns.
- Be responsible for newly referred cases until they are closed/sign posted to the relevant service.
No day is the same, which will give you the opportunity to continuously grow your skills and knowledge with our training and leadership support.
About you
We would like to hear from you if you are…
- Always learning, with three years post qualifying Social Worker experience working across multi-agencies, and a passion to grow and develop your skills, so that you can be a positive role model for children and their families.
- Kind and caring, providing a proactive personalised approach, responding to needs in a timely manner with good communication skills and a professional telephone manner.
- Advocating for equality and integrity in all you do, providing tailored advice and information to children and families acknowledging the uniqueness of individual needs or situations, referring to other agencies where applicable within the emergency response.
- Willing to take responsibility and contribute to the delivery of Oxfordshire County Council’s vision and maintain a 'child/person' focused model of working by exercising professional curiosity in all areas of work.
- Driven to do things differently to embark on a journey of continuous improvement.
