Countryside Access Officer

About Us

Oxfordshire County Council’s Countryside Access Team are recruiting for a permanent Countryside Access Officer.

The post will cover the South of the County, which includes the stunning Chilterns National Landscape. An exciting and rare opportunity to look after the 2,800-mile rights of way network, providing access into and through Oxfordshire’s wonderful countryside.


About the Role

This post will undertake a variety of public rights of way duties. Ensuring the protection, maintenance and improvement of our network including legal enforcement in support of the Council’s responsibilities as Highway Authority.


About you

We are looking for a knowledgeable, enthusiastic countryside access professional with proven experience of rights of way management, to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. You will be a proactive self-starter with strong time management, communication, and negotiation skills, who is able to work independently and as part of the team.
