We are building a new transformation team for Children, Education and Family services to support our continued improvement journey. We have a number of exciting projects underway to make a difference to the lives of children, young people and their families. This role will be an essential and crucial part of this new team. 

If successful, you would have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, spanning across early help, children's social care and education. Our aim is to deliver the best possible outcomes for children and young people and support the delivery of high quality, sustainable services. 

 

About the role

You will be part of the Children, Education and Family services transformation team, supporting project and programme managers to deliver key improvements. As part of this, you will:

  • Support organisation of the team, projects, programmes and boards so that work is progressed in a timely way and deadlines are communicated clearly 
  • Prepare high quality project documentation, including highlight reports, project plans and business cases to support effective delivery 
  • Work with a wide range of stakeholders across the directorate, wider council and partners, including senior managers, to achieve change
  • Develop your project management skills, taking the lead on key workstreams.

 

About you

You will be motivated by making a tangible difference to the lives of children and young people, working as a transformation and change management professional in a service design and improvement environment.

You will be organised, a clear communicator and skilled at juggle multiple projects, at times in a fast-paced environment. 

Experience of working in local government and/or the wider public sector service economy would be desirable, but not essential, as experience in other sectors will enable us to look at our challenges from another perspective.
