About the Role

The purpose of this role is to work pro-actively and flexibly across CEF with the Inspection Readiness and Service Improvement team to ensure that the Directorate is statutory inspection ready, and to support in the delivery of action plans that drive continuous improvement. 

You will be part of the Children, Education and Families Quality Assurance Division; supporting the delivery of the CEF agenda of continued service improvement to meet OFSTED and DfE statutory requirements. 

As part of your role, you will:

  • support organisation of the team, projects, programmes and boards so that work is progressed in a timely way and deadlines are communicated clearly 
  • prepare high quality documentation, including service improvement plans and highlight reports
  • work with service areas across CEF to ensure that all required inspection documentation is up to date, accurate and quality assured.
  • support the planning and timetabling requirements for inspections in partnership with the Directors Office 
  • support the process for 'closing the loop' to ensure that learning from quality assurance activity is integrated back into practice, and that required actions are tracked and closed down in a timely way. 
  • work with a wide range of stakeholders across the directorate, wider council and partners, including senior managers, to achieve change

About you

You will be motivated by making a tangible difference to the lives of children and young people, working in a Quality Assurance and Service Improvement environment. You will be organised, a clear communicator and skilled at juggling multiple pieces of work, at times in a fast-paced environment. 

Fundamentally, you’ll be passionate about delivering stand-out public services, because we’re here to make every moment the best it can be for the residents of Oxfordshire.

Experience of working in local government and/or the wider public sector service economy would be desirable, but not essential.
