Assistant Strategic Planner

About Us

The Strategic Planning Team provides professional specialist planning advice across the County Council to ensure its priorities and statutory requirements are secured in strategic development sites, Local and Neighbourhood Plans and other planning documents in Oxfordshire, neighbouring authorities and other regional and nationals strategic bodies. 

About the Role

The post holder will provide a key supporting role to senior officers across the Strategic Planning Service. The role will assist and support the Strategic Planning team in a variety of strategic planning activity across the county including neighbourhood plans, district local plans, Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs) and pre-application advice and planning applications for strategic sites. The post will involve liaising with stakeholders, arranging and attending meetings, research, record keeping, evidence gathering, monitoring and analysis to enable the successful delivery of services and planning advice. 

About you

You will have a Degree qualification in Town Planning or a related subject. You will be looking to start your career in the planning field and have a keen interest in the natural environment, sustainable development principles and the move towards a zero carbon Oxfordshire. You will be part of a team with a busy workload and part of a wider service dedicated to the continued development Oxfordshire.
