You'll be working for our thriving Oxfordshire Library Service which has 44 libraries across the county and over 2,400,000 visitors to our libraries every year.


About the Role

You will be the Assistant Library Manager based in Wantage Library. The library is in a thriving town, ideally situated within the main shopping area of Wantage. The successful applicant will assist the Group Library Manager in ensuring that the library operates to the highest standards of customer service set by the Library Leadership Team and will be working with an experienced team to expand the library offer and increase customer and stakeholder engagement. They will play a key role in supporting the cluster sites in Berinsfield, Wallingford, Benson and Grove.

The role is customer facing and involves continual interaction with users of the library, volunteers and library customer service advisers. Assistant managers build and maintain relationships with the wider community and deliver events and activities for library users. The role is also detail oriented and involves performing administrative and clerical duties and organising library material and information.


About you

We are looking for a confident, enthusiastic and committed individual who enjoys working with people from all backgrounds in a demanding but exciting customer service role where no two days are the same.
